Frequently Asked Questions
Are ROHM kits easy to install?
Yes! We’ve spent countless hours developing our templates, refining the fit, and choosing materials specifically to make installation as easy and forgiving as possible.
Seriously—if you can put on a sticker, you can install a ROHM kit.
ROHM kits are not vehicle wraps. They’re precision-cut Allover Decal Kits made specifically for your vehicle. There’s no need to stretch huge sheets of vinyl around an entire van or learn professional wrapping techniques. Each piece is designed to go where it belongs.
How long does installation take?
It depends on your vehicle, the amount of coverage you choose, your experience level, and the environment you’re working in.
We highly recommend installing indoors in a garage or another clean, controlled space whenever possible.
That said, a first-time installer should generally be able to install a complete ROHM kit on a properly prepped, standard-size van in about 3–5 hours. Smaller coverage options can take considerably less time.
What is an “Allover Decal Kit”?
An Allover Decal Kit is a new approach to vehicle graphics—and the term we use at ROHM to describe a category that, until now, really hasn’t existed.
Traditional decals are usually individual logos, stripes or graphics. A vehicle wrap goes to the other extreme, covering large portions of the vehicle with oversized sheets of vinyl that typically require professional installation.
Allover sits between the two.
A ROHM Allover Decal Kit uses a collection of individually designed, precision-cut decals that work together across the entire vehicle to create one cohesive design. Each piece is digitally templated for your specific vehicle and has a predetermined place, turning what looks like a complex custom graphic treatment into something you can install yourself.
We believe Allover is the future of vehicle graphics: less material, less installation time, more customization, easier replacement, and no need to wrap an entire vehicle to completely transform the way it looks.
ROHM is pioneering this approach and the Allover Decal Kit category.
Is a ROHM Allover Decal Kit the same as a vehicle wrap?
No—and that’s the whole idea.
A traditional vehicle wrap uses large sheets of vinyl that are stretched, heated and formed around the vehicle's body. It can look incredible, but installation is a skilled trade and usually requires a professional installer.
ROHM takes a completely different approach. Our Allover Decal Kits break the design into precision-cut pieces that are digitally templated to fit specific areas of your vehicle. You install the individual graphics where they belong rather than wrapping the vehicle in vinyl.
The result is the ability to create the visual impact of a custom wrap without actually wrapping your vehicle.
Less material. Less installation time. DIY-friendly. Easier to customize. Easier to replace.
That’s Allover.
Will I still see the color of my vehicle after installing a full kit?
Yes—a little, and that’s intentional.
ROHM Allover Decal Kits are made from precision-cut individual pieces, not one continuous sheet of vinyl. There are small spaces between decals—typically around 1/8" or less—where your vehicle’s original paint may show through. We also don’t cover certain areas, such as the roof and other less-visible sections of the vehicle.
That’s exactly why we built the Body Paint feature into ROHM Studio. Select your vehicle’s existing factory paint color and you’ll see how it works together with the design and colors you choose.
From normal viewing angles, a full-coverage ROHM kit visually covers approximately 99% of the painted surface on the sides of the vehicle, while still allowing the original body color to become part of the overall design.
In most cases, ROHM Studio gives you a very close representation of how your finished kit will look on your actual vehicle.
Do I need any experience to install a ROHM kit?
No. ROHM kits were designed from the beginning with DIY installation in mind.
You don’t need vehicle-wrapping experience or specialized training. Because an Allover Decal Kit is made up of individually cut, digitally templated pieces, you’re working with manageable decals rather than trying to stretch and form giant sheets of vinyl over your vehicle.
Take your time, follow the installation instructions, and work one piece at a time. If you can confidently apply a sticker, you have the basic skills needed to install a ROHM kit.
Like anything, a little patience and preparation go a long way—but professional installation experience is definitely not required.
What tools do I need to install my ROHM kit?
Not much. We designed ROHM Allover Decal Kits to be installed without specialized tools or equipment.
Your kit comes organized into printed sections with a decal layout and color-coded guides, making it easy to identify where each group of decals belongs on your vehicle. In most cases, it’s pretty intuitive—you’ll be able to look at a section and recognize exactly where it goes.
As you work through the installation, you’ll simply cut each individual decal from its backing sheet and install it one piece at a time.
We include an installation squeegee and a set of four installation magnets with your kit. You’ll just need a good pair of scissors. We also recommend having some painter’s tape handy for larger pieces or areas where the vehicle panel isn’t magnetic.
That’s really it. No heat guns, specialty wrapping tools, or professional equipment required.
Then I would make the very next question:
Should I install my ROHM kit wet or dry?
We recommend a dry installation using the hinge method.
The hinge method allows you to position the decal first, hold it securely in place with the supplied magnets or painter’s tape, and then apply it in a controlled way. It’s straightforward, clean, and the installation method our instructions are designed around.
Experienced installers may prefer a wet application in certain situations, and our material can be installed that way. However, ROHM’s installation instructions and support are focused on the dry hinge method, and that’s the method we recommend for most customers.
What happens if I mess up or damage a decal during installation?
Don’t panic—you’re installing individual decals, not one giant vehicle wrap.
One of the big advantages of the ROHM Allover system is that each piece is independent. If you accidentally damage a decal during installation, you haven’t ruined your entire kit or need to start over.
Replacement decals are available individually. Just contact us and let us know which piece you need, and we’ll help you get back on track. Replacement pricing will depend on the size of the decal or section being replaced, and shipping charges may apply.
It’s another advantage of Allover: easier to install, easier to repair, and easier to replace.
How do I prepare my vehicle before installation?
Good prep is simple—and makes a big difference.
Start by thoroughly washing your vehicle with soap and water to remove dirt, road grime and grease. The surface should be completely clean and dry before you begin installing your ROHM kit.
Do not wax your vehicle before installation. Wax, ceramic coatings, detailing products and other surface treatments can interfere with vinyl adhesion.
If your vehicle has been waxed or you’re unsure what products have been used on the paint, we recommend wiping the installation areas with an alcohol and water solution using a clean microfiber cloth to remove any remaining residue.
Whenever possible, install your kit indoors in a clean garage or controlled environment, away from wind, dust and direct sunlight.
Clean. Dry. Wax-free. You’re ready to install.
How long will my ROHM kit last?
ROHM kits are built for long-term outdoor use using premium polymeric print media and a protective overlaminate designed to resist UV exposure, abrasion and the elements.
The exact lifespan of your kit will depend on how and where your vehicle is used. Sun exposure, climate, road conditions, washing methods and whether your vehicle is stored indoors or outside can all affect longevity.
The materials used in ROHM kits carry manufacturer outdoor durability ratings of up to 6 years, and proper installation and care will help you get the longest life possible from your graphics.
And because ROHM is an Allover Decal Kit, individual pieces can be replaced if an area becomes damaged or worn—you don't have to replace an entire vehicle wrap.
Will a ROHM kit damage my vehicle’s paint?
No. ROHM Allover Decal Kits are designed to apply securely to properly prepared factory paint and remove cleanly when it’s time for a change.
In fact, while installed, the decals add a layer of protection over the painted surfaces they cover—helping shield your paint from UV exposure, light scratches, road grime and everyday wear.
While an Allover Decal Kit isn’t a replacement for dedicated paint protection film (PPF), it offers some of the same practical benefits: putting a protective layer between your vehicle’s paint and the outside world.
The difference? With ROHM, that protective layer also completely transforms the look of your vehicle.
Protect your paint. Create something completely your own. And when you’re ready for something new, remove it and do it again.
Can I remove my ROHM kit later?
Absolutely. ROHM Allover Decal Kits are designed for clean removal when you’re ready for a change.
Maybe you’re ready for a completely new ROHM design, or maybe you’re getting ready to sell your vehicle and want to return it closer to its original appearance. Either way, the individual decals can be removed without having to deal with an entire vehicle wrap.
For easier removal, we recommend working in a warm environment, which helps soften the adhesive and makes the decals easier to peel away cleanly.
It’s one of the things we love about Allover: transform your vehicle, protect the paint underneath, and when you’re ready for something new—change it again.
Can I pressure wash my vehicle or take it through a car wash?
Absolutely. ROHM Allover Decal Kits are made for real vehicles that get driven, used and washed.
You can hand wash, pressure wash, or take your vehicle through a standard car wash. Just use a little common sense around the edges of the decals.
Avoid pointing extremely high-pressure water or steam directly at decal edges from close range, as enough concentrated pressure can potentially lift an edge. When pressure washing, keep a reasonable distance and direct the spray across the decals rather than underneath their edges.
For the longest life and best appearance, hand washing is always the gentlest option—but your ROHM kit doesn’t need to be babied.
How do I know my ROHM kit will fit my exact vehicle?
If your vehicle is listed on ROHM and you can select it in ROHM Studio, we have a template designed specifically to fit that vehicle.
We categorize vehicles by the dimensions and body configurations that actually affect the fit of your decal kit—things like model year, wheelbase, roof height and body length.
Simply select the options that match your vehicle. Every ROHM kit is digitally templated around the specific vehicle configuration you select, so each decal is designed to fit exactly where it belongs.
Before your kit goes to print, we’ll also send you a final proof and confirm your exact vehicle configuration with you. It’s one more step to make sure everything is right before we produce your kit.
Match your vehicle to the options in ROHM Studio, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Why doesn’t the vehicle in ROHM Studio look exactly like mine?
That’s okay—and in some cases, it’s intentional.
Vehicle manufacturers offer a lot of variations, and not all of them affect the fit of your ROHM kit. We’ve also designed some of our Studio vehicle renders to represent multiple model years that share the same relevant body configuration, so certain details in the render may look slightly different from your actual vehicle.
ROHM categorizes vehicles based on the physical differences that matter to our templates, such as model year, wheelbase, roof height and body length. Features like AWD, 4x4, electric powertrains, trim packages and other options generally aren’t listed separately unless they actually change the exterior body in a way that affects our template.
For example, you might own a 2024 Ford E-Transit AWD, but for ROHM the important configuration may simply be Ford Transit · 148" Wheelbase · High Roof · Extended Body.
So don’t worry if every grille, light, badge or trim detail in Studio doesn’t look exactly like your vehicle. Select the correct year and body configuration, and we’ll make sure the kit is built for the vehicle you actually own.
Will the colors I see in ROHM Studio match my finished kit?
Very closely—but no screen can perfectly reproduce a printed color.
We’ve carefully developed the ROHM Studio color palette around the colors our production equipment can reproduce, so what you create in Studio is designed to be a very close representation of your finished kit.
Every phone, tablet and computer displays color a little differently. Screen brightness, display settings and even the lighting around you can affect how a color appears, so slight differences between what you see on screen and the final printed material are normal.
We’ve also taken the time to closely match the manufacturer/OEM paint colors available in Studio. These allow you to select your vehicle’s actual paint color and see how it works with your design. However, these should be considered a close visual representation of the factory color, not an exact digital paint match.
If exact color matching is important—such as a corporate brand color, fleet color or other custom requirement—contact us. We can work with you to dial in the color before your kit is produced.
For customers who want to see colors in person before ordering, we’ll also be offering physical ROHM color charts and swatches that can be purchased before designing or ordering your kit.
ROHM Studio takes the guesswork out of designing your vehicle, while giving you a very close representation of what you’ll see when your finished kit comes to life.
Can I customize the colors of my ROHM kit?
Absolutely. That’s what ROHM Studio was built for.
We believe customizing your vehicle should be something you can actually do yourself—from creating the look to installing it on your vehicle.
Start with one of our professionally designed Allover layouts or a blank template, then make it yours. Change individual colors, experiment with combinations, coordinate the design with your vehicle’s factory paint, customize elements and text, and keep working with it until you’ve created something that feels completely your own.
With an extensive color palette and the ability to customize colors throughout your design, the possibilities are almost endless.
We like to think of DIY a little differently around here:
Design It Yourself.
Decal It Yourself.
You don’t need to be a designer. You don’t need to be a professional installer. We built ROHM to give you the tools to do both.
Do I need to be a designer to use ROHM Studio?
Not at all. We did the hard part—you get to do the fun part.
Every ROHM design starts with a professionally created layout built specifically around the shape and body lines of your vehicle. When you enter ROHM Studio, you’re not starting with a blank canvas or complicated design software.
Choose a design you like, then make it yours. Change colors, adjust elements, add text, experiment with different combinations, and see everything come together right on your vehicle.
You can keep it simple and change a few colors, or dive in and create something completely unique. There’s really no wrong way to ROHM.
That’s the idea behind Design It Yourself—giving you enough creative control to make something genuinely your own without needing to be a graphic designer.
We built the Studio. You make it yours.
Can I create my own design in ROHM Studio?
Absolutely. This is where “Design It Yourself” really comes to life.
You can start with any ROHM design and customize its colors, elements and text—or start fresh with our DIY Blank and build something completely your own.
The ROHM Elements Library is much more than a handful of add-on graphics. We’ve spent countless hours drawing and developing an expanding collection of original ROHM artwork, created by us specifically for Studio. Combine elements, change their colors, add outlines and shadows, reflect and position them, layer in text from our curated font collection, and build your design directly on your vehicle.
Want to bring something of your own? You can do that too. Upload your own logo, artwork or design elements and incorporate them into your creation.
And while AI can be a great creative tool, the artwork in the ROHM Elements Library isn't AI-generated. It was actually drawn and designed by us. We think that matters.
Start with one of ours. Start with a blank canvas. Bring some of your own.
Design It Yourself. Make it yours. Then Decal It Yourself.
That last progression is powerful because now the DIY message has a very literal customer journey:
DIY Blank → Design It Yourself → Decal It Yourself.
What is the ROHM Elements Library?
The ROHM Elements Library is an expanding collection of original artwork created specifically for ROHM Studio.
These aren’t stock graphics or AI-generated images. They’re original illustrations and design elements we’ve spent countless hours drawing and developing to give you even more ways to make your vehicle your own.
Add them to an existing ROHM design or start with DIY Blank and build something completely new. Change colors, combine elements, add text from our curated font library, or upload your own logos and artwork to bring into the mix.
Think of it as a design library inside the Studio—built to give you the tools, while leaving the creativity up to you.
Design It Yourself. Decal It Yourself.
What coverage options are available for my ROHM kit?
ROHM Studio lets you decide exactly which areas of your van you want to decal.
Each van is divided into five selectable coverage areas: Sides, Side Windows, Rear Doors, Rear Windows, and Hood & Visor. Turn individual areas on or off in Studio and see the changes directly on your vehicle as you build your kit. Your price updates along with your selections.
This is especially useful for passenger vans, camper vans and other window configurations. If you want to leave your side or rear windows uncovered, simply deselect those areas and build your kit around them.
ROHM does not currently offer perforated window film, so any window graphics selected in Studio are intended for windows you want fully covered. If visibility through a window is important, leave that coverage area unselected.
Whether you're creating a full van wrap alternative for an overland van or choosing just a few areas for a commercial van, ROHM's modular decal kit system gives you control over how much of your vehicle becomes part of the design.
Choose your design. Choose your coverage. ROHM ALLOVER.
What finish options are available?
Your design isn’t finished until you choose the finish.
ROHM Allover Decal Kits are available in matte, gloss or textured matte allowing you to change the overall character of your design and how it interacts with your van’s existing paint.
Choose gloss for a more traditional painted appearance with richer reflections and color, or matte for a softer, more understated finish that can give your van a completely different feel. Our Textured matte is a little tougher and has a texture similar but not as aggressive a "bedliner" finish, its our favorite!
You’ll select your finish right inside ROHM Studio before adding your kit to the cart.
Same design. Same colors. Three very different looks—you decide.
What comes with my ROHM decal kit?
Everything you need to get started.
Your custom ROHM van decal kit arrives fully printed, laminated and ready for installation. Your graphics are organized into sections, rolled, protected, bagged and boxed for shipping.
Every kit also includes a ROHM installation kit with four wrap magnets and an installation squeegee, along with installation and decal-placement instructions to help you work through your vehicle one section at a time.
You’ll just need a pair of scissors to separate the individual decals from their backing sheets as you install them, and we recommend having some painter’s tape handy for areas where magnets can’t be used.
We handle the production. You handle the transformation.
Design It Yourself. Decal It Yourself.
How long does it take to produce and ship my ROHM kit?
ROHM operates on a print-on-demand model. Every kit is made to order for your exact vehicle and your design. We don’t pull a generic decal or van wrap kit off a shelf—your kit is prepared specifically for you.
Once we receive your order, we’ll set up your customized design on the complete production template for your exact vehicle and complete any necessary prepress work. During this process, we’ll also prepare a final proof showing your design on the full template—including both sides of your vehicle—so you can review everything before we print.
Your proof will typically be ready within 2–3 business days.
Once you’ve reviewed your proof and responded “Approved,” your kit moves into production. Most orders are then printed, laminated, finished, packaged and shipped within 5 business days of approval.
During holidays or unusually high-volume periods, production may take a little longer. If that happens, we’ll let you know and keep you updated.
Made to order. Printed on demand. Nothing gets printed until you’ve seen it and approved it.
What if you don’t have my van?
Don’t see your exact van in ROHM Studio yet? Let us know.
We’re continually expanding the ROHM vehicle library, with new makes, models and configurations already in development. Some vehicles—including additional low-roof and medium-roof van configurations—may already be on the way even if they haven’t made it into Studio yet.
Send us your year, make, model, wheelbase, roof height and body length/configuration and we’ll double-check our template library and let you know what’s available or coming soon.
Your requests also help us decide which vehicles and configurations we build next, so we definitely want to hear from you.
Whether you drive a camper van, overland van, work van or manage a commercial fleet, our goal is to keep expanding ROHM Allover Decal Kits to more vehicles and configurations.
